Our Services

Barbers have skills that are made to give away and bless other people with, however sometimes along their journey to become the people barbers intend to be they require assistance to get their. Also many people that need the services of a Barber are not able to get them and at the end of the day they just need a haircut to make themselves feel like a person.  Listed below are some ways the Cutting Initiative assist in those efforts.

WYA Learning -Where ever You Are  $$$

This program is specifically for UNLICENSED Barbers that are currently working in a shop for more than a year that need to work to support themselves or their families. This is a path to licensure that allows you to stay in the shop.

Meeting You Where You Are

This program takes the Initiative inside of the jails and detention centers to provide haircuts for inmates or detainees.

Community Service Events

Nothing is more rewarding to a creative being than giving back and making others feel good. The cutting up Initiative always seeks to participate in community events to offer free haircuts to those who need them. Some events include Back to School, Veterans Day cuts, Trunk or Treat Cuts, Thanksgiving Cuts and Christmas Cuts.

Caring Cuts

This program allows anyone that is coming through a recovery program, a reentry program, youth program, DFACS, or court mandated program to receive a haircut for free by bringing in a coupon from that program.

Like Minds

This program seeks to partner with other non-profits with like minds and similar or parallel purpose to help the communities we serve become stronger and provide whole health and wellness avenues.

Student Sponsorships/Grants/Scholarships

The cornerstone of this initiative is providing education to individuals in the recovery , reentry or youth at risk space, through donations or student sponsorships. The barber industry is a big tent career and a great fit for these communities. The career allows the individual to become self sustained and financially free.
